Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1954 Kaiser DARRIN recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1954 Kaiser DARRIN problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Additional Description: Spectacular no-expense spared concours level restoration | | 3-position convertible top | Wire wheel covers | Whitewall tires | Dual wind wings | Tinted glass | Includes owner identification card, owner service policy, jack and removable side curtains | By 1952, Kaiser Motors was showing interest in producing a stylish sports roadster to suite the interest of Americans who had started purchasing two seat sports cars from European manufactures. Famed automotive designer Howard Dutch Darrin, who had also worked with other great marques such as Duesenberg and Packard, designed the new car with his patented sliding pocket doors and a fiberglass body to help save production costs and shave weight. Henry Kaisers wife reportedly said the Kaiser Darrin 161 prototype was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. This was enough for Henry Kaiser to give the green light for production which began in 1953, with all cars being produced as 1954 models. At a cost of over $3,500 new, it was one of the most expensive sports cars of its era and attracted numerous celebrity owners. With unique sliding doors, incredible styling and a low production of only 435 examples built, the Kaiser Darrin was one of Americas first ventures into true sports car production. It is no wonder why examples today are typically only seen in some of the words most premier private collections. The 1954 Kaiser Darrin 161 Sport Roadster featured here is finished in stunning Onyx Black over a beautiful maroon interior and matching convertible top. This spectacular example has been meticulously restored to the highest possible standards and presents in concours condition. In February 2019, a representative of the Kaiser Darrin club personally inspected this example and determined that it is one of a very few factory Onyx Black paint examples with a trim code 888 (factory special order) interior.
