Additionally, this ready drive Ford is now mated to a Ford C4 automatic transmission for ease of driving in all environments. A truly fantastic find for any enthusiasts looking to add a 50s classic to their collection! History of the 1951 Ford F1 Truck: Ford F-Series trucks came about in 1948, rebranding themselves with new chassis' specific to the pickup truck lineup. The F1, as seen here, would represent the ½-Ton chassis, F2 for ¾-Ton, leaving the F3 and up for heavy-duty applications. Throughout each available model both six and eight-cylinder engine options remained available, each packed with the highly faithful Flathead technology. This F-Series redesign also included updates to the truck bodies, with a one-piece windshield and headlights integrated just outside of the horizontal grillwork. By 1951, some further changes included a larger rear window for better visibility, headlights now positioned further out and into the fenders, and a modernized grill with a more aerodynamic appearance. The later models also gained a wood bed with an improved tailgate. Unfortunately, this beautiful design would only be produced until 1952 before becoming the F100 we know today, leaving the compact F1 continues to be highly regarded for truck collectors today!
